Overnighting in Helston and discovered Henley’s Wine Bar. What a little gem - great food, well-priced and friendly service with a smile. Great end to a great day!

Another day, another island….. seal-spotting on the beaches before exploring the beautiful island of St Martin’s.

Probably just as well Trigger isn’t on this trip with me………..no sheep but lots of ducks!

Enjoying my first visit to the Scilly Isles - don’t think it will be my last…..so beautiful here.

Proud to announce I have been appointed as a Trustee on the Board of the Ulysses Trust, a great charity which supports the provision of outdoor adventure & expedition opportunities for cadets & Reserves. Photo taken during an air cadet exped to Switz supported by the Trust.

Trigger having fun in the rock pools - gorgeous colours in the very welcome sunshine!

Back in the Lakes for a short stop over on our way home. Ullswater was beautiful as always yesterday afternoon.

Chris setting off on his epic 4-hour paddle back down Loch Lomond after doing Ben Lomond first. I think his arms are aching now!

Trigger on the way down from Ben Lomond today. Sadly, cloud at the summit prevented good views from the top but the view of the islands on the loch was pretty impressive.

Fab day trekking up and down Ben Lomond albeit Chris decided that wasn’t enough of a challenge so kayaked across Loch Lomond before and after. Nuts!

Early morning kayak and found this cheeky chappy swimming along the rocks.

Today we arrived in Anglesey and explored the south coast. Stunning! Now camping near Holyhead which we will explore tomorrow, hopefully after an early morning kayak if the weather holds.

The road trip continues! Cader Idris summited then off to the Llyn Peninsular. Fab scenery and so lucky with the weather after one sodden day.

On our road trip around the Welsh coast. Days 1 and 2 perfect albeit the sea was Baltic. Day 3 not so good - exhaust fell off the van so stuck in rainy Dt David’s waiting for local garage to weld it back on! 🤪

Saw this little poem in a restaurant loo today and had to share: There was an old lady at dinner, who declared that she ought to be thinner, but the food had a race, to get to her face, and chocolate was always the winner! Loved it!! 🤪

Another invigorating walk around the local forests and lochs. It’s cold but I managed to miss the rain/sleet and it’s so beautiful up here that the weather just has to be put up with!

Lovely trek in the Glen Nevis area taking in the Steahl waterfall before the weather changed for the worse. Cold and rainy afternoon but could be in worse places!
