I was in NC doing get out the vote. Lots of independents who are undecided, making up their minds. Conversations now are critical. If you have time in the next 8 days to do door knocking in a swing state - make a plan. You can be the difference in this close race. It really…

What can be done to help students from mixed status families get through the FAFSA? Today, @NCANetwork offered recs on the FSA ID process for people without SSNs. Most important: create a secure portal for identity documents and add call center capacity. shorturl.at/zD4l9

Important re: FAFSA right now is that K-12 doesn't have student-level data yet. FAFSAs haven't been processed so states can't flow FAFSA data to K-12 districts/schools. Very possible most district/school leaders are flying blind and do not realize how far behind we are.

If California and Texas can do it, every state can!👏👏👏

🥳 Congrats to California for moving your state financial aid deadline back to April 2, 2024! This allows students time to complete the #FAFSA since it will not be released until December this year.

There’s a lot of interest in universal FAFSA policies these days, so for @NCANetwork I took a look at the impacts on FAFSA completion in the first year of implementation in AL, IL, LA, and TX. More evidence needed/welcome on enrollment impacts though! ncan.org/news/613062/Di…

NCAN has been a “stalwart supporter” of lowering FAFSA verification rates, says @FSACOO Explains that in recent years, verification rates have gone down thanks to machine learning model, from 30% to 22% to 18% to 10%. Starting 10/1, expect to verify only 7% of filers. #NCAN2022
