✨A full day of light within one photo: A few years back I stood outside Wells Cathedral for a full day and photographed the impact of the light on the front facade. I was amazed at the outcome - at how a single entity could morph and change under the changing light. #thread

I realize you just became a Catholic, like, a minute ago but the "Deus Vult" is NOT a "Christian motto." It is a throwback to the rally call in 1096 and Urban II's speech that led to the First Crusade (I'm a medieval history nerd, you are not). It's never been widely used... 1/

They're attacking Pete Hegseth for having a Christian motto tattooed on his arm. This is disgusting anti-Christian bigotry from the AP, and the entire organization should be ashamed of itself.

Artificial Intelligence gives us a glimpse inside of the old St. Peter’s Basilica as it looked in the 4th century and for the many medieval pilgrims centuries later in the new Vatican exhibit by Microsoft that will open for the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year.

A fun discovery this week - a little 16th century quill tucked into one of our documents! Some poor Elizabethan must have been going insane wondering where they'd put that blasted quill...

South Brent #Devon #FontsOnFriday Although typical of the New Red Sandstone Norman fonts of south Devon in the band of palmettes (or honeysuckle), it is unique in that the leaves are completely separate from each other, a small but interesting stylistic difference.

I loved researching this. It blew my mind. Behind the tragedy of a baby’s death is a tale of rivalry, power, religion, politics, & witchcraft. It is not all in the article but it will be in the book I am writing. Happy 🎃 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
