Resolution of SVB should preserve it's internal capacity in affordable housing and honor all commitments

This is a serious problem that will require collective action at all levels of government and with private partners to redress bostonglobe.com/2023/03/13/bus…

Hopefully, the FDIC will honor Silicon Valley Bank's commitments given the requirement that it consider the impact on low/mod-income housing when liquidating a failed bank's assets. bit.ly/3yyvh3O @CHAPAdotorg @masscdcs @KimberlyRLyle @andrewnbrinker

Between a shortage of affordable homes, skyrocketing rent, and increased numbers of unhoused Americans, it's clear our country is facing a national housing crisis. Meanwhile, private equity firms are scooping up properties, outbidding everyone by algorithm. Enough is enough.

"There are existing tools...that provide incentives for builders to create more #affordablehousing. #LIHTC is responsible for generating a majority of all affordable rental housing created in the US." Thank you @MikeCrapo for supporting the #HousingCredit! crapo.senate.gov/media/newsrele…

Who supports the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act?" asked @SenToddYoung during a @SenateFinance hearing today. All 5 witnesses supported passing #AHCIA, critical legislation to expand the #HousingCredit that would provide 2M+ #affordablehomes nationwide.

To fight inflation, Congress should increase the housing supply by immediately passing the bipartisan Neighborhood Homes Investment Act and expanding Low Income Housing Tax Credits. We already know what works. We just have to do it. #affordablehousing #CommunityDevelopment

Buzz Roberts Reposted

Now more than ever, we need to invest in long-term, bipartisan solutions to the housing affordability crisis by expanding #LIHTC, passing the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act, and changing local restrictive #zoning and land use laws to allow for more #housing development.

The investments in the #BuildBackBetter Act encourage affordable housing development AND support underserved communities AND create good jobs.
