Hi y'all! I've been kind of MIA this summer but I'm ok. My mom passed away completely unexpectedly in July while my dad was in the ICU. My dad is disabled and my mom was my dad's primary caregiver, so my brother and I have been trying to manage his care, which is substantial.
Honored to be the first Black trans woman elected to public office in Cook County tonight. Together, weโve made history. Over the next two years, Iโll fight to protect Lake Michigan, champion environmental justice, and amplify voices too long ignored. The work continues.
