Osprey and Peregrine annoying the Lapwings @ladywalk_nr this morning. Jays also giving it large to Tawny Owl. Common Sand’ x 2, Mandarin and plenty of Kingfisher movement the main highlights.
A superb Long-tailed Skua went past Strumble Head this morning as well as my first Great Skua of the year.
It’s been too long since I’ve seen my favourite bird. So many pics too choose from. Choughs of Strumble Head.

Disturbing reports of people getting too close to the Grashopper Warblers in the play meadow @RSPBMiddleton With very few on the reserve so far this year, please give these birds space and keep to the mown paths.

The good thing about starting 2023 with less than 200 lifers is that there were plenty of lifers to be had. Didn’t get pics of several others = 205. Sets up quite well for 2024. Happy new year! 😀
