Some big news: I am running for the Ontario Liberal Party at home in Carleton! We need a government that will take real action on the housing crisis, on healthcare, on education. Bonnie Crombie and the @OntLiberal team are ready to take action on day 1.

Brandon Bay is a housing advocate and software developer. We’re excited to announce that Brandon has been officially nominated as your Ontario Liberal candidate for Carleton! #onpoli

This is a government that supposedly hates bureaucracy so much they appointed a "Minister of Red Tape Reduction" creating red tape and, ultimately, more traffic. The fewer options we give people to get around, the more cars will be in your way. #onpoli

Too many drivers across Ontario are stuck in gridlock for hours every day and bike lanes are making things worse. Next week, we’re introducing legislation that would require cities to get provincial approval for any new bike lanes that require removing a lane of traffic.

We’re building homes on federal lands, so that you’re able to get into a home at prices you can afford. Here’s how:

According to the DC Background Study, new home fees will be paying for more than half of a high-end pool complex to attract tournaments. The city doesn’t even know where it’s going yet. #ottnews

Capping property tax increases at 2.5% is misleading when we recommend raising development charges over 10x that. Renters and young people paying the price once again.

Remember to sign up and delegate if you can! It's not too late to make @ottawacity council change its mind about taxing housing during a housing crisis. It's incredibly frustrating that we still aren't taking it seriously.

Planning Committee is reviewing a proposal this coming Wednesday to increase @ottawacity development charges by 15-53%. This will add thousands to the cost of homes during a housing crisis, as all living costs skyrocket. Write your councillor and tell them you're opposed! 1/3

Instead of relying on visitors to sustain any neighbourhood, let's support remote work, build more housing downtown, and build more services and amenities in the rest of our communities.

This is exciting for the city, but I don't think the money will get through all those projects. Last estimates have $80M for Barnsdale interchange and over $450M for Kanata North BRT alone (assume province will pay 1/3). Relative pennies left for housing, downtown, & road repair.

It’s important that we not permit four storey towers in our neighbourhoods.
