Today and tomorrow are great days to call that client or candidate that you’ve struggled to connect. Generally they have a lighter work schedule. Also most are in the holiday mood. Just don’t open the convo with “So what are you cooking for Thanksgiving this year?”
This man is on to something. 🤔
Something that doesn’t get talked about enough during interviews between hiring manager and candidate: - Realistic work hours (wk) < 40 hrs 40-45 hrs 50-60 hrs > 60 hrs This can make a difference if the new hire stays on long term.
Say what you want about companies enforcing RTO, but I 100% guarantee these long-tenured government employees are not working 40 hour weeks.
BREAKING: Elon Musk and Vivek’s Department of Government Efficency may require federal employees to come into the office five days a week, which they argued could lead to "a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome: If federal employees don't want to show up, American…
Taking 4-6 weeks to interview is not recommended, but taking less than a week or just one round to interview can be problematic as well. Having an offer rejected is likely when the candidate is rushed or doesn’t have all the facts to make a decision.
My must-haves when staying in a hotel: (Ranked in order) 1. Control the AC to be cooler than 65. 2. Comfortable pillows. 3. Soft bed mattress. 4. Gym with free weights. 5. Black out curtains. 6. Bar/restaurant.
Some hiring managers want to cruise for the remainder of the year, but that’s a mistake. The smart companies are hiring now. They get 6 weeks to get their new hires on board and they’re ready to perform at a high level come January.
If you’re looking for a new job, it might make more sense to see if your current company can offer what you’re looking for. The grass is not always greener plus working for a new company means you have to prove yourself pretty quick to people who don’t know you very well.
Lots of discussions going around about countering offers, asking for raises, and negotiating. Funny that this is all coming down right before the holidays.
There are people who can lead meetings and are great at sales, however, for some reason they suck at small talk. I think because of their type A personality, their attention span is short and/or they get bored easily. Does anyone else notice this?

Few things in this world are more cringe than clapping when the airplane lands.
As a work professional; if you have: 💡 Top qualifications 💡 Presents yourself very well during conversations 💡 Accept an offer with no hesitation 💡 Reliable (won’t ghost, respond quickly, not wishy-washy) Hiring managers and recruiters will love working with you.
People who open with “I don’t know who needs to hear this, BUT…………….” on social media posts are just as annoying as those who cold email with: “I hope this email finds you well.” 😡
If a candidate tells you their motivation for leaving their company is mostly money-related, don’t take that as gospel. We’re all looking for more money. 💰 Money is only part of the problem.
I’m always amazed at the number of workers who are excellent interviewers but very less than excellent workers, and vice versa. Whatever your skill level is, always be honest with yourself.
