The co-founder of DeepMind just joined Microsoft as CEO of a brand new AI division. Plus, more developments from Stability AI, Princeton, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA GTC, Saudi Arabia, Pika Labs, and Buildbox. Here's everything going on in AI right now:

I never anticipated how wonderfully entertaining it would be to see so many people who have never contributed a single thing to AI or ML, some of them very far gone on the Dunning-Kruger scale, tell me all the ways I'm wrong, stupid, blind, ignorant, misguided, jealous, biased,…

It is surely an amazing day 💗

If you love non-abelian anyons (and who doesn't?), today is a good day. quantamagazine.org/physicists-cre…

It's 7 years today since we launched the first quantum processor in the cloud. Adoption of our technology has been simply incredible. To this day, more than 2,100 papers have been written using IBM Quantum and Qiskit. Looking forward to keeping building a community around quantum

Quantum topics include: topological, fracton, holographic, approximate, homological, QLDPC, fault-tolerant, dynamically generated, bosonic, entanglement-assisted, self-correcting, metrological, etc. Happy to collaborate on research if you wind up finding something new!

We are looking for talented undergrads interested in classical and/or quantum error correcting codes to help with populating entries in the error-correction zoo. We are almost certain that we can find a topic aligned with your interests! cs.umd.edu/projects/reuca…

My sincerest thanks to the many IBM Quantum staffers, clients, and partners who gathered in New York City today for IBM Quantum Summit 2022. Here’s a look back at some of the biggest announcements from the event (thread).

“It is amazing how a problem that was open for 30 years was solved essentially at the same time by two different groups,” said Alex Lubotzky of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. quantamagazine.org/qubits-can-be-…

Amazing work with our summer intern Will Kirby. In this arXiv we improve simulations of second-quantized fermionic Hamiltonians, in the high-precision regime of many modes M. We achieve simulation of fermionic operations with polylog(M) qubits and gates. arxiv.org/abs/2109.14465

A promising building block for a fault-tolerant #quantum processor is demonstrated: Exponential protection against relaxation and first-order protection against dephasing is achieved in a #superconducting qubit. @nanonoodle, @circuitqed, @schusterqed bit.ly/3qoRcUp

We are working on redefining how quantum programs are run on quantum hardware. Today we released two blogs that show where we are going with dynamical circuits (real-time) and Qiskit runtimes (near-time). ibm.com/blogs/research… medium.com/qiskit/a-new-o…

We released the video-text model in #TFHub associated with this #CVPR20 research project. You can use it's text and video representations for applications such as zero shot text-to-video retrieval or action recognition. Play with it inside Colab → goo.gle/37C7rGg

In our #CVPR2020 collaboration with @inria_paris & #CIIRC, we train a visual model from narrated videos without manual annotation. It obtains SoTA results on several downstream tasks, often surpassing fully supervised methods.

Great to see more quantum software companies thinking about local control, something we here at Riverlane are passionate about! Zapata's work also drew inspiration from our research on accelerated-VQE - arxiv.org/abs/1802.00171 @ZapataComputing zapatacomputing.com/publications/j…

I'm happy to announce that our later paper has been uploaded to arXiv (arxiv.org/abs/2006.10656). It presents a canonical method for constructing quantum oracles, with experimental results from the @Honeywell System Model H0 (Quantum Volume 64). @marco_pistoia @constantin10
