GP practices were denied funding to cover the NI rise because they are private sector organisations according to the Treasury Yet they are not eligible to NI reimbursements that are open to small private sector companies because they are public sector according to the Treasury🤷🏻‍♂️

Looking after patients in general practice is increasingly complex. Patients need - and deserve - more time. Disadvantage magnifies inequalities. Mental health in particular needs more time. Stopping doing what is not ours to do is one step towards delivering better primary care…

#TeamGP - continuity of care is a foundation. When you know these patients for a long time, you become a keeper of their stories and tribulations. Very fulfilling for us. Safe for patients. This is the magic of General practice. Focus needs to be on this quality.

Hmm I wonder which is better, either a man having a minimally invasive 20 min vasectomy under local anaesthetic that comes with a recovery time of 1 day or a woman having major abdominal surgery under general anaesthetic that takes a month to recover from. Impossible to say!

Millions of patients were affected by IT outage in General Practice. GP teams worked overtime, incl over the weekend to continue and recover services for patients. Thousands of £s spent per practice in doing so, with no funding or resources when we already have a crisis in GP.

This would make so much sense. Not a teacher but a GP with school age kids. Not simply the financial driver, the other big issue is having to share leave out over the school hols. We can only have certain number of docs off at a time for obvious reasons…..

For students with good attendance allow 5 days for a family holiday each year, with schools able to dictate particular weeks where no holidays take place. (Assessment weeks for example) Family to ensure catch-up of missed work.

I had a suicidal patient brought in against her will. She was suicidal because of financial issues. She asked me if she would get a bill for her forced hospitalization, which is the case. She will likely be billed thousands of dollars. That’s American healthcare for you.
