The Clean Air Conference has officially come to an end, but the conversations and action plans continue! 🌱 Big thanks to everyone who made it a success—let’s keep the momentum going for a healthier future! #UKCleanAirConference #CleanAir
Have you heard about the new @metoffice Air Quality Data Portal? It provides access to UK #AirPollution data between 2003-2019 Watch our scientists Eleanor Smith and Lucy Neal discuss its key features ⤵️ youtu.be/5wrDQguqJAs?si… #UKCleanAirConference @UK_CleanAir
We’re here for the #UKCleanAirConference at the @unibirmingham @UK_CleanAir is led by @metoffice and @NERCscience tackling indoor and outdoor #AirPollution for a healthier future 🍀
Plant fossils show continental #Europe was warm and wet in the middle Cenozoic, but the British isles’ paleoclimate has been less studied. Analysis of #fossil pollen reveals these islands may have had rainforests in the Oligocene but were as cold as today in the early Miocene.

First paper of the PhD (a mere 6 years in...) is finally here! rdcu.be/dKTjm @NatureComms We pinpoint Kerguelen volcanism as the trigger for Oceanic Anoxic Event 2 🌋🌊
A project led by @NPL for @UK_CleanAir has reviewed technologies used for #AirQuality monitoring to ensure they provide reliable data. We co-deliver the Clean Air programme with @NERCscience and have produced a new blog about the project ⤵️
As part of @UK_CleanAir, we’ve been contributing to a project developing a new high-res air quality modelling system, using the @metoffice Unified Model. This helps improve our simulations, making them more useful for understanding air pollution. metoffice.gov.uk/research/appro… 1/3 🧵
My 25 years of palaeoart chronology... Here is the other painting Creswell Crags commissioned in 2003. This one is called "The Story Teller." #SciArt #SciComm #Dinosaurs #PalaeoArt #PaleoArt
My 25 years of palaeoart chronology... In 2003 Creswell Crags commissioned a few more artworks. These included two paintings featuring hunter gatherers inside a cave that possessed a newly discovered deer engraving. Here is "The Engraver." #SciArt #SciComm #PalaeoArt #PaleoArt
My 25 years of palaeoart chronology... In 2001 I was commissioned by Creswell Crags to create a series of paintings illustrating the gorge at different times in the past. I loved this project so much! Here is a Neanderthal family, 50,000 years ago. #SciArt #SciComm #PaleoArt

Do you know how good the air quality is around you? We've examined people's indoor & outdoor pollution exposure, according to their daily activities and levels of pollutants. Read our latest blog ⤵️ @gavin_shaddick @RoyalHolloway @LondonU @turinginst @UK_CleanAir
As part of @UK_CleanAir, we’ve been supporting the delivery of the Developing a UK Community Emission Modelling System (DUKEMS) project. This provides new, standardised air pollutant emissions modelling for the UK, led by @stefan_reis @UK_CEH Read on to learn more ⤵️ 1/9 🧵
As part of our role co-delivering @UK_CleanAir with @NERCscience we've examined how we can improve air quality modelling ability to help people reduce their exposure to #AirPollution. Read more in this blog ⤵️ #AirQuality
The @metoffice has been an important contributor to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 1990 Met Office research has been cited several thousand times in @IPCC_CH’s Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) 👇
