"Alex, I expected better of you," wife gchats me after seeing this tweet. "Really?" I respond.

Some news about me. Super excited to get started working with an incredible team.

My husband just told me he’s discovered how annoying it is to be married to a Mets fan in the postseason.

New in @sciam : Is misinformation *really* a problem? Our take: Exposure to "fake news" is rare, but misinformedness is common- b/c of misleading claims from elites & mainstream news. Solutions must take this into account! w @DG_Rand scientificamerican.com/article/combat… 1/N

This is a really good point. What is often seen as some orchestrated plot is really more a case of chasing SEO without the usual institutional guardrails to mind the store.

Contrary to those who see a political conspiracy, here's my take: This phenomenon of abysmal headlines, which we're seeing consistently in the @washingtonpost and the @nytimes, is likely the result of the devaluing of copy editors in an era of budget-cutting.

The constant failure of AI evangelist types to ask if anyone — anyone at all — other than themselves wants these things they think are so revolutionary is just incredible

I'm convinced we'll look back on this phenomenon as a classic example of misinformation that had very real, very detrimental impacts. Biz passed bad info to media, media reported bad info, execs then believed it b/c they saw it in media, stores became un-shoppable and closed.

In my first feature for @BW @business, I dug into a question that everyone I know has had for years: Putting everyday goods like toothbrushes and deodorant behind locked plexiglass can't actually be working out well for the stores that do it, right? bloomberg.com/news/features/…

Awful news. A lovely, generous colleague and person.

Some very sad news this morning: Walter Shapiro, died. A political journalist for half a century, he was steeped in political lore, leavened with a love for history a wicked sense of humor, and a rich abiding love for his wife, Meryl Gordon. (1/2)

Brian is an exceptional reporter, and an absolute pleasure to work with. An instant boost to some lucky newsroom out there.

After 5 amazing years at CNN, I’m being laid off as part of a wider re-org. I’m so grateful for the whole team here. We broke news and helped people make sense of it. I’ll stay a few months, then take time to rest and reflect. Call if you need a tech/telecom policy person!

Sam isn't just great at what she does, she is also — as literally anyone who worked with her will tell you — a genuinely amazing colleague. The newsroom that gets her will be better for it.

I was among the CNN reporters laid off today as part of the company’s restructuring. I loved CNN and I’m so proud of the work we did. If you’re looking for a tech reporter to cover AI, social media, trends, Big Tech, gadgets, tech anything, please send a message! I’d love to chat

This reporter, who knows more about the Epstein case than any other journalist, has spent her morning debunking false and uninformed rumors. And this tweet kind of sums things up.

I've come to believe that the American public won't pay for the truth. They would rather believe the lies they get for free on the internet.

In interviews with 70+ people, I heard a lot about the Washington Post's ups and downs. Here are 9 of the key quotes from my article for @TheAtlantic >>>

Never stops being amazing and sad to see how quickly and how widely something as blatantly dishonest as this travels, tweeted and spread by people who should absolutely know better.

BREAKING: White House press corps has petitioned CNN to open up the debate studio to reporters, who for now have to watch a feed from a building across the street, b/c they believe there may be a "medical emergency" involving one of the prez candidates requiring on-scene coverage
