X Marks The End. Twitter is dead. This platform only reluctantly lives on as a zombie. Warped and disfigured, it marches on like a White Walker, an ugly shell of its former self under the command of a loathsome leader. RIP, Twitter. It was a fun ride. cnn.it/4766hAU

The post-Chris Licht era at CNN is taking shape. More in @ReliableSources: view.newsletters.cnn.com/messages/16878…

One notable thing about this rapidly developing international story: Since Elon Musk took a sledgehammer to Twitter’s verification system, the platform is far less useful during breaking news events, and so people are depending on traditional newsrooms for verifiable information.

The live-update format across all news websites serves news junkies who are plugged into the cycle well, but for those just trying to get their hands around the basic contours of the story? The old-school inverted pyramid style story probably works better.

The NYT live-blog is a daily disaster, but especially so during huge news events. Hard to fathom how it still exists.

The all too common failure from major news orgs to be direct with audiences when covering politicians and media figures who traffick in lies and conspiracies leaves audiences with a distorted understanding of events. More in @ReliableSources: view.newsletters.cnn.com/messages/16873…
