Henry Simmons from @alzscot delivering today’s keynote: Rights based dementia policy and practice. Great reminder of the journey so far to support and protect the rights of people living with dementia and those that support them. @MacleanFiona @elaineahpmh @ENU_OT_

Creating a familiar communication environment can support connections. Smile, make eye contact or greet with a handshake. Simple ways to set the scene matter at all stages of dementia #WithSLTuCan

Staying active. Things you may consider are: Make sure the environment is safe; consider removing loose mats and rugs, improve lighting, avoid trailing flexes and watch for uneven door thresholds. alzscot.org/sites/default/…

Having a whiteboard in your kitchen can be a helpful tool to keep track of items you need to add to your shopping list as and when you realise you are running low. It can also be a useful prompt for other daily reminders which can be erased once they are complete. #WithOTuCAN
