Science on a Saturday?!?!?! 🥼🧪👩🔬 AOE Students rocked our FIRST Science Olympiad competion @MissouriState They competed in toothpick towers, water filtration, leaf ID, egg drop, and estimania. We took home several awards and had a blast! @officialSPS #STEM
Our major unit project is a 60 second commercial to showcase the non-profit organizations we’ve been working with for the last few weeks. Today, we got advice from expert Mr. Jim of Plotline Film (another @CityofSgf non-profit!) on how to make the best videos! 🎬💻 @officialSPS
Using the design process, students were tasked with creating a device to launch a marshmallow as far as possible. After the first test, students made improvements & tested again. After they found success, we tried launching progressively larger marshmallows. Today = testing day!

Today @mrsschifsky was awarded a classroom grant from the Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation. Students will now have more materials and resources to enhance their culinary experiences at @AOESPS Congrats!!!! @officialSPS Your Future. Our Focus.
Today was our first field trip of the year! We spent the day at Ritter Springs tackling team builders at different 6 stations around the park. We had a blast and we’re ready for week 2 together! @TheParkBoard @officialSPS
DAY 1 at @AOESPS had a bit of everything. From teaching library classes in the kitchen, to offering support to students in their STEM challenge, to a Walmart run for supplies - it was a blast.
Today we completed our first STEM challenge of the year: Wicked Water Slide! 💦🛝 We failed! Spectacularly! And we loved every moment of it! Our Lego mini-figs made it down the slides, some a little more safely than others 😮💨 @officialSPS
