Today, at 11am, personnel from 2214 played their part in Washington’s Remembrance Parade, creating a show of blue alongside veterans, the Sulgrave Detatchment of the Army Cadet Force and over 100 people of the Washington area. (1/2)
On Thursday night, we said goodbye to one of 2214’s longest serving cadets, Sergeant Dodge. A symbolic member of our NCO team, Sgt Dodge will be a huge miss but everyone at 2214 wishes him the best of luck in his career with the British Army.
Last week, CPL Johnson, CDT Green, Flt Lt Siberry and SGT Terry enjoyed the Wing’s autumn camp at RAF College Cranwell. The week was packed with unique experiences and interesting visits to numerous sections on the camp!
CDTs Green, Purvis and Brotherton were also presented with their Pre Duke of Edinburgh awards, earning the blue badge to proudly display on their brassards. Well done all- let’s keep the awards and recognition coming!
Last night we recognised some more achievements on 2214. A huge well done to FS Siberry and CDT Hair who earned their blue musicians badge after developing their glockenspiel skills through the squadron band!

The squadron was also able to witness the well deserved presentation of a Gold First Aid badge and certificate to Cpl Gilbert.🥳 Congratulations to all cadets that were presented with an award! (2/2)
🚨Awards🚨 Last night, the OC was delighted to present three First Class cadet badges to cadets Carrahar, Heels and Lockwood. Two Radio Operator badges and certificates to cadets Allan and MacDonald. Also, one Aviation Training Package certificate and wings to cadet Hair. (1/2)
On Tuesday we recognised some recent achievements from our previous training block. A huge well done to the following cadets: ⚡️ Blue Radio Operator Award ⚡️ CDT Lockwood CDT Heels CDT Carrahar CDT Hutchinson ✈️ RAFAC Aviation Training Package ✈️ CPL Rushton CPL Gilbert

Last night, we recognised some more achievements on 2214! CPL Rudland has earned the prestigious Bronze CREST Award, having spent a weekend within the Wing learning about and developing an autonomous car- a huge achievement, Corporal! #whatwedo #aircadets
And lastly, SGT Berry has spent almost two years working hard towards his BTEC Level 2 diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development. This qualification is highly coveted in the working world, recognised by colleges, universities and employers; a huge well done Sergeant! (3/3)
The OC also presented a number of Duke of Edinburgh awards; CDTs Coombes, MacDonald and Hutchinson all received the RAFAC’s Pre Duke of Edinburgh award while FS Siberry and CPL Watson were presented with their bronze awards; congratulations- onto the next level! (2/3)
Flt Lt Siberry was pleased to present the following awards on final parade last night: Firstly, a huge well done to CDTs Carrahar, Heels and Lockwood who received their Essential First Aid badge for their brassards- the first step to first aid training in the ATC! (1/3)

On Thursday our cadets had a BLAST, with a wonderful visit from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. The local crew from Red Watch, Washington Community Fire Station SPARKED up the conversation showing off their amazing Fire Engine!🚒👨🚒🚨 (1/2) #aircadets #whatwedo
Last night we had another award to present! This time, Cpl Gilbert completed her Method of Instruction assessment and passed with flying colours! She was presented with her Method of Instruction lanyard on final parade by our Training Officer, CI Johnston. Well done Corporal!
As well as learning about circuit and traffic patterns, Cadets took control of the aircraft under supervision by the RAF instructors and demonstrated their abilities in flying the aircraft themselves- some even attempted aerobatic manoeuvres such as barrel rolls and loops (3/3)
For some Cadets, this is the best part of being a Royal Air Force Air Cadet- after successfully demonstrating emergency and parachute procedures, each Cadet undertook a 30 minute flight over North Yorkshire in a Grob Tutor aircraft. (2/3)
