Not even a year has passed when Imran Khan accused Asif Zardari of planning his assassination. Today he wants talks with PPP & suddenly, for PTI supporters, PPP is being seen as the saviours of democracy alongside their leader. No my friends, this is just plain & simple politics.

The foundation of any government is democracy. If even 1 person believes his democratic right to vote was snatched, his grievance must be addressed as peace cannot exist without justice. ECP must decide election appeals judiciously & new govt be formed with new hope for Pakistan.

Hon’ble Supreme Court insists on holding of election. However, a constituency carved out under correct parameters of law & duly delimited is a condition precedent for exercise of fundamental right of franchise. Holding fair elections is more important than just & due elections.

In his latest judgment on a land dispute matter, CJ Qazi Faez Isa imposed costs of PKR 1 million on petitioner who indulged in frivolous litigation since 2009 only to maintain illegal possession on the lawful owner’s property. Hit them in the wallet - a most welcome precedent.
