People often switch between videos and fast-forward through them on platforms like YouTube & TikTok. Here, we wondered if people consume media this way to avoid boredom; This is ironic because we also found that such viewing behaviour increases boredom and decreases satisfaction

Now in press at Journal of Experimental Psychology: General With @minzlicht , we found that people fast-forward and switch between videos to avoid boredom, but paradoxically, this makes them more bored. osf.io/preprints/psya…
