My research article on Zhengzhou Foxconn Workers, which the interview w/ @promiseli0 is based on, is OnlineFirst @CritSoc now. Based on fieldwork before Covid, it offers a systemic analysis of the labor management & social conditions that give rise to Foxconn's debacle today.

@yige_dong has a new article in Critical Sociology about factors have led to extremely high turnover rates, bleak prospects for labor solidarity, and the rise of ‘gig manufacturing’ in China. Check it out! doi.org/10.1177/089692…

Indian food, tho, is just impossible to comprehend for those from rural China. They eat at a Chinese canteen, and make hotpot, suan cai yu, hulatang (lots of Henanese deployed from Zhengzhou). When traveling, they stick with KFC and McDonald’s.
