The US debt crisis is terrible: Currently, every new dollar of US public debt generates just $0.58 of GDP, near the lowest on record. By comparison, in the 1960s this metric was as high as $9.80, and in 2000 it was $4.00, or 7 times above current levels. Over the last 4 years,…

Looking back, when I was trying to transform my family business, this was the product that died at the hands of the BoD in 2016. Guess I was too early.

A YC batch-mate was quoted 16k from a consultant for a custom AI invoice processor Their intern built it in 2 hours on Gumloop GPT-4o now: -Analyzes any receipt sent to their Gmail -Extracts vendor + amount -Categorizes it -Adds it to their Notion DB -Texts their finance admin

Hopefully, we can turn this project into reality. While there still might be skeptics about sustainability as an industry, doing things better should be a good start for more good to be done for the business's local communities and its employees.

Crocs is a beautiful business. They took a product that could belong in a Dollar Store, sell it for $45+ and then upsell you $20 bling on-top of it.

1/ Nvidia's focus on "pain and suffering" as a key part of their philosophy is a stark contrast to the prevailing messaging we hear from most tech companies today. Jensen cannot stop talking about this. He brings it up over and over again!!

I went through this list of investor letters yesterday and found that practically nobody invests in Asia these days. 80% are focused on US tech. I'd bet that was not the case in the early 2010s. lettersandreviews.blogspot.com/p/1st-quarter-…

Best take away so far when I was looking at AI hardware @nvidia vs @AMD "The big difference between Nvidia and AMD is that Nvidia don't just sell the hardware, they also very actively use it themselves. I haven't seen a single LLM trained or at least finetuned by AMD themselves

In 2009, Stanford business professor Tina Seelig split her class into groups and issued a challenge: Each group had $5 and 2 hours to make the highest return on the money. At the end, they'd give a short presentation on their strategy. What happened next was fascinating:

There are 3 main funding options for small biz buying: • Seller financing: the owner lets you pay them over time with profits from the biz • SBA loans: gov-backed loans with low interest, long terms and minimal money down • Investors (my least fav)

The anti-smartphone movement will be one of the biggest movements of our time. It's just getting started...

this is the ceo of cognition 14 years ago the idea that 10x/100x engineers don’t exist is such a cope

Creative solutioning to the world's problem, the next big thing with programming being almost fully automated. One would still need to know some basic tech though.

I've been playing around with @cognition_labs' Devin on and off today. It's so cool. Little things, like a site with top 20 restaurants in Brooklyn using a scoring algorithm it designed. Two things that will become more valuable in a post-Devin world: - Imagination - API Keys
