When you hear Rishi Sunak speaking today, remember he's the richest MP in Parliament who has repeatedly voted to slash social security support for workers while cutting taxes for some of the wealthiest. Sunak is a super-rich Chancellor who works for the super-rich.
Tory minister Nadhim Zahawi said a windfall tax on fossil fuel giants was wrong, saying they were "struggling". BP's profits were announced today: £9.45 billion. Shell's are £12 billion. The Tories have more compassion for big business than they do for the working class.
Our prime minister told us we'd have cheaper gas bills after Brexit & they went through the roof. He told us unemployment has fallen by 440,000 when it's actually risen by 600,000. He told us crime has fallen by 14% when it's actually risen by 14%. These are called lies.
When you hear Rishi Sunak propose a £200 *loan* as a solution for households facing energy bills rocketing by £693, remember: He's the richest MP, who last night in Parliament pushed through a tax cut for bankers worth £1,000,000,000 a year. Sunak's on their side, not yours.
“Nobody told me it was against the rules” is a pretty weird thing for a man who was on telly literally every night for an hour telling people what the rules were.
