Wrote a JIT compiler in Zig for a Friday evening discord stream. - Zero dependencies. No LLVM. - Used only man pages, cmd utils, and the ARM manual. 2x speedup over an opcode based VM for summing a million numbers 10k times. Part of a (free) book I'm writing to teach JITs.
Friends don't force friends to use Gradle. I learned this the hard way. Don't be like me.
These are not the technical accounts that I was looking for. This is actually quite disturbing.
A little less entitlement and a bit more empathy can go a long way, to make this a better world.
Hello my dev peers. Exclusive tech communities are not communities. There endeth the lesson.
@kelseyhightower 100% agree. Microservices use tempting as a decoupling mechanism since it provides perfect isolation and separation of concerns, by that does not have to be the case. Reminds me of Cameron Purdy’s Ecstasy PL which aims to address this: thenewstack.io/all-about-ecst….
Not every single year, but yes, I enjoy learning new languages. Maybe this year will be @xtclang ? ;)
What Odersky is talking about, is already work in progress in the @xtclang
Oh great, Twitter is co-opting the Ecstasy branding. Does this mean they're going to switch everything from .scala to .x? Ecstasy is not quite ready for that ...
Distributed teams can be a challenge, especially with timezones! We got to spend some face-to-face time last week with @cliff_click and @lagergren on Ecstasy at @JCreteUnconf with @heinzkabutz 😊
Just got back from the jCrete conference and fixed the Ecstasy build publishing step: A server we relied on had changed its ssh keys 😳
Glad you liked it ... the next project is the language server, and that is what Ecstasy really needs 😊
Ecstasy language @xtclang is really packed with great ideas to make cloud development productive. I have to follow-up on this! @JCreteUnconf
Seriously cool ... well played.

You can't write "boostcon" without "boston". Just sayin'
