Tomorrow's forecast is poor, and England aren't playing until Sunday - so why not join us for an afternoon of fabulous fizz? Probably the only sparkling wine tasting this w/e in which sodastreams, Dennis Lillee & people dressed as lice will be mentioned localwineschool.com/manchester/pre…

3 of the line-up for our Prestige Sparkling tasting on 29 Jun 8 wines, ave price £25 - and that's before factoring in the £150+ Cuvée Louise Pommery... At £55, it's a great prezzie for Fathers who enjoy their fizz - or a treat for yourself! localwineschool.com/manchester/pre… #fathersday

"the Sweet Smell of Grandma" - a new fault to add to your wine vocabulary wine-searcher.com/m/2024/02/wine…

Daunted by the Wall of Wine? Join me later this month to see how you can scale it/demolish it/dig under it/walk round it/walk through it/transform it into a small knob of margarine/etc etc

Featuring apples & Sodastreams, Harry Styles & cups of tea, Mega-Purple & the world’s most expensive ice-cube… It's an introduction to wine like no other, join us for Back to (Wine) Basics Bottle By Bottle later this month - and get a free book too! buff.ly/47tkGWT

Not sure if it is...

Is this an improvement? Good King Wenceslas looked out With a glass of Pinot Gave a passing peasant some, He said, ‘Darn good vino.’ If you too are into wine Rather than time-wasting Why not in the coming year Join us for a tay-ay-sting? localwineschool.com/manchester/gif…

Excellent customer service from @PongCheese to help with a reasonably urgent delivery - thank you!

Remember 29 years ago late at night singing The Band Played Waltzing Matilda at @TaylorsPortWine's Quinta de Vargellas & bringing tears to a few eyes - hopefully with the lyrics, not my singing Yes, it’s Eric Bogle’s song, but Shane introduced me to it Love this anecdote

My reaction to hearing about Shane MacGowan's death was the same as my reaction to Lemmy's, which was, how the f**k did he make it past 60? Glad he did though. I life very well lived. Here's a fabulous anecdote about the great man from Kiefer Sutherland. Worth a watch.

Sherry experts, what alcohol level does the base wine for fino/manzanilla typically have before it is fortified, and how has that changed in the last 30 years?
