It took 3 days until all 344 rescued people went ashore in Pozzallo. Many of them had to endure the wait & heat, even though they had experienced terrible things before. We are happy that they are now ashore, but we are shocked at the way Europe welcomes those seeking protection.

Today, we had to evacuate 3 medical emergencies and one family member from #SeaWatch3. There are still 352 people remaining on board, rescued from distress at sea in the last few days. Everyone is very exhausted and they all have the right to go ashore in a port of safety now.

On Saturday, the trial against 21 sea rescuers starts in Sicily, 4 of them have been part of the @IuventaCrew While #Europe did not fulfill its duty to rescue, they saved hundreds of people from distress at sea. Now they are on trial as defendants and face 20 years in prison.
