We did it!! The people have spoken! I am honored to have won re-election to the New York State Assembly with a landslide 83% of the vote and a mandate! Let’s continue our fight for equity, dignity, and justice for our communities, together.

The Democratic Party must stop ignoring its various constituencies. MENA communities deserve to be heard and represented. We can start doing so in NY by signing my bill with @SenGianaris, A6219B/S6584C into law to disaggregate the data of our MENA neighbors. #CountMENAIn

Trump won Dearborn, where more than half the population is of Middle Eastern or North African descent. foreignpolicy.com/2024/11/13/mic…

Last year I sent a letter to the Biden admin with 40 legislative colleagues asking for TPS for various nations including Ecuador and Colombia to #LetThemWork. It's time they respond to mitigate harm to our neighbors. TPS now! 🇨🇴🇪🇨

“I’m asking the Biden administration (…) to help minimize the Trump administration’s damage” says Milena Guayasamin of @maketheroadnj  #TPS for Ecuador & Colombia will safeguard thousands from deportation & the family separations expected from the upcoming administration.

This Transgender Awareness Week we must recommit ourselves to trans liberation and equity. Trans people are our family members, our friends, and our neighbors, and we will not allow the right to harm our loved ones. The end 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…

It's time to move forward and turn on congestion pricing to invest in our transit infrastructure and combat climate change.

*NEW* from a US DOT spokesman on congestion pricing: “New York project sponsors notified FHWA of their updated plan to advance the project with a starting toll of $9, and FHWA is working expeditiously to finalize the needed steps to complete the agreement.”

🗣NYC's delivery workers are essential. It's unacceptable that billion dollar apps are denying pay to hard-working families. I stand with @LosDeliveristas who are organizing to reclaim their unpaid wages, fight unfair deactivations & demand pay transparency.

These are Republican talking points and absolutely wrong. We need to double down on our support of our trans community now more than ever not scapegoat them because of our inability to deliver for the working class.

Tom Suozzi, who scraped by Tuesday: “Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left,” he said. “I don’t want to discriminate against anybody, but I don’t think biological boys should be playing in girls’ sports.” He added, “Democrats aren’t saying that, and they should be.”

The right move. With anticipated attacks on climate and risks of reduced funding to our state, we must implement congestion pricing asap.

.@GovKathyHochul’s top aides are calling state lawmakers—pitching them on a congestion pricing revival & reduced fee structure at a roughly 40% reduction of previously proposed fees. Plan to eventually raise fees. MTA thinks they can bond to get $15B. ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…

Started SOMOS this morning meeting with Janno Lieber. With the election behind us, it’s time to talk about transit policy and the long-term financial stability and improvement of the MTA.

I’m with @KarinesReyes87 I spoke to @KaitlynnLisa about this today too. Now is the time to be proactive. We should hold a special session to pass legislation to protect our most vulnerable New Yorkers from the expected Trump admin. Resistance should start now.

At Somos, Assemblymember Karines Reyes says the Legislature should hold special session before the end of 2024 to “build a wall” before Trump comes in. On Trump’s Latino gains, says “This is a moment of reckoning. We have an opportunity and a responsibility to set an agenda.”

New York has spoken loud and clear. We will protect the right to an abortion and each other. YES for equal rights! ✊🏼🌈

WE DID IT! #Prop1 has passed! NY's constitution will now protect our reproductive freedoms, including abortion, and protect every New Yorker from government discrimination, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, pregnancy status, disability status, or whether someone is LGBT.
