If you are managing simple Apps, MRSK seems like a great option to manage deployment. Simple, elegant and serves the purpose ✨

Kubernetes is great. Everyone loves it and a lot uses it. However it doesn't harm sometime to step back and see if you really need it. As always a great post from @dhh world.hey.com/dhh/they-re-re…

Many people disregard E2E tests because "test environments are notoriously unstable". But I'll ask you: if you can't create a stable test environment, what makes you think you can create a stable production environment?

Canary deployments to 5% of your traffic sounds difficult (it is), but it's still easier than building a 100% perfect copy of your production environment and traffic in "staging".

Since the advent of modern single page apps, somehow we managed to make both frontend and backend so complex that each faction thinks they have more work to do than others. Irony of modern day engineering ☺️

Yesterday, a frontend engineer told me that they think that modern frontend engineering is more complex than backend engineering these days. I asked this person if they've done backend engineering recently. They have not: they just had ideas on what it was like, back in the day.

"Of course it's expensive to rent your computers from someone else. But it's never presented in those terms. The cloud is sold as computing on demand, which sounds futuristic and cool, and very much not like something as mundane as 'renting computers'." world.hey.com/dhh/why-we-re-…

The Spring Boot team works so hard. By the time you upgrade to 2.7.4 and put the damn thing in prod, a new version pops up 😂

Spring Boot 2.7.5 has been released. spring.io/blog/2022/10/2…

As an AWS user, I often want to know the cheapest options for compute resources given some project-specific criteria. So, I made a tool to show me that data in a way that is useful to me. Maybe it will be useful to you, too: compute-cost.com
