Severe storms have pushed east of the area. Light to moderate rainfall continues for portions of the Hill Country and I-35 corridor through this evening.
#Nopower for 24H+ means many Texans will have to replace tons of #food..some of which will struggle to do so. That being said, I would love to see/propose a partnership b/w some of Texas big names + local grocers @HEB @kroger @Walmart @theestallion @Beyonce @slimthugga @JJWatt
EMERGENCY OUTAGE UPDATE at 1:15 p.m.: 🔊ERCOT has given Austin Energy permission to restore some customers! What you need to know: ⚡We've been able to restore 16 circuits across our service area. ⚡We are prioritizing customers who have been without power the longest. (1/4)
EMERGENCY OUTAGE UPDATE at 12:30 p.m.: While @ERCOT_ISO says conditions are improving, we want customers to know this a dynamic situation + conditions are changing throughout the day. ⚡Customers should be prepared to not have power through Tuesday night and possibly longer. 1/4
We should be able to restore some customers this afternoon due to additional wind & solar output, & additional thermal generation that has told us they expect to become available. But, the amount we restore will depend on how much generation is actually able to come online.
Weather, more generation outages last night bring load shed to 18,500 MW. For today…generators to return, renewable output to increase = increased customer restoration.
