Had a wonderful afternoon recently taking my Mam on a @age_cycling trip through the lovely Dodder Valley Greenway. This is an amazing service for people with reduced mobility, and the volunteers are truly amazing.

I'm starting to post on BlueSky more these days. Link in bio, because links to Twitter competitors are being hidden with the timeline.

Important lessons why big projects are unnecessarily slow. Death by 1000 cuts.

Why can’t Britain build anything anymore? The news this week of the £100m ‘bat tunnel’ gave us some clues. Here’s the story of this tunnel, which has been 12 years in the making, and some thoughts on what it tells us

What's a simple bike service go for these days? Just check the basics brakes, oil etc. Cycle Super Store charges €75, which seems a lot. Also, anyone recommend somewhere around Tallaght area?

Some really nice micro forests happening around Tallaght. It's been impressive to see them growing out over the years.

Since the first Mini Woodland trial in Sean Walsh Park in 2020, SDCC in collaboration with community volunteering groups, have planted over 20,000 trees and shrubs in parks and open spaces. For more on mini woodlands, please click on the following link buff.ly/3QGpSBt

I've been playing with @freepik's Reimagine feature for urban vizualization and it's really great to explore new ideas for towns & cities. Here's what I did. - Get photo - Draw on top of existing photo - Use Reimagine to create a concept in various styles

We often complain that Ireland has disconnected planning, but this new N2 bus route is an example of what we're doing right these days. Connects with 2 Luas lines, Dart and Heuston. Also the Sligo line, and the Maynooth line which will be upgraded to Dart+ in the future.

The new Orbital route N2, operated by @GoAheadIreland, is launching on September 29th. Areas include Blackhorse Av, Nephin Rd, Broombridge, Ballyboggan Rd, Old Finglas Rd, Griffith Av, Marino and more. 🚌 For timetables and more information, visit: transportforireland.ie/getting-around…

These are the back gardens of the estate I grew up on. There are already a lot of grown up children moved into these garden buildings to try save money.

So, hear me out. Build out a network of @Lilium's electric aircraft around the whole island, were you could get from Derry-Cork in less than 60 mins, and Dublin-Galway in 30min.

I would love to see a modern-day revival of quality shop canopies and awnings. A good example is Fade Street, just around the corner from Drury Street.
