The British mind is really something. Instead of seeing this as a goal to aspire too, all Iโ€™ve seen is hate and jealousy.

Oh fuck off, Yasmin.

Our Y11 students didnโ€™t let the cold weather phase them whilst completing their fieldwork today on the coast. Looking forward to the next trip tomorrow! ๐ŸŒŠ

It's worth considering the scale of #HurricaneMilton. Florida is comfortably as big as England and Milton is projected to batter the entire state, including a storm surge up to 7 ft affecting much of the coastline. It's enormous. #geographyteacher

Hurricane Milton isn't going to reach the UK. The storm will either totally dissipate over the Atlantic Ocean or its remnants swept up into another low pressure. This will save you having to wade through any nonsensical click bait headlines that may suggest otherwise...

Itโ€™s #DyspraxiaAwarenessWeek. ๐Ÿ’› It is estimated that 1 in 10 people are dyspraxic, though many will not know that they are. It is part of neurodiversity, though it may also be diagnosed as โ€˜Developmental Coordination Disorderโ€™. Not everyone with dyspraxia presents with theโ€ฆ

Any other teachers on here suffer from migraines? Iโ€™ve just had my worst attack in 4 years. Took yesterday off, but went back to work prematurely and a second one struck today. How do you deal with them at work?

Teaching the same lesson to 30 students with different needs would be similar to a doctor trying to help 30 patients with different needs at the same time with the same treatment. We need more adults, and we need more planning time to do what is needed in classrooms.

On this day last year, the UK was at the end of a September heatwave, and recorded its hottest day of 2023 - reaching 33.5C at Faversham, Kent. Today, Arctic air is spreading southwards, with snow falling on peaks of the Scottish mountains. It shows how variable our weather is!

Serious post: Look after yourself this year. Doing โ€˜whatโ€™s best for the kidsโ€™ does not (and *must* not) necessitate the compromise of your health - mental and physical. It just isnโ€™t worth it. *You* matter. Assert your boundaries unabashedly. You got this! #edutwitter

Sometimes I wonder if economic decline in the UK has been because almost no one understands the concept of an investment..

I donโ€™t know if you need to hear this right now, but you are not responsible for the results of your students. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. If you gave it your best, and they didnโ€™t do the work, they own the results! Try to be kind to yourself and sleep well tonight!

Libraries are a vital resource for isolated pensioners, low-income people with no access to the internet or books at home, young families who use their many services aimed at children, young people who have nowhere quiet at home to study, etc, etc. Pathetic morons.

Liverpool's Spellow Lane library torched last night. What could be more 'patriotic' than destroying a centre which serves the local community?

Confronting fascists is deeply intimidating even when thereโ€™s a lot of you. Doing it on your own in the middle of a riot holding up your homemade sign requires a bravery I think not all of us could muster but this woman did it. A legend

Amidst the chaos, this woman held up a sign saying: 'Hope not hate. Racism not welcome here'.
