This is a 💥 fantastic 💥achievement by @MadamPratolungo and the Weald Action Group. They’ve only gone and won!!!! Quite rightly too. The oil company was arguing that the only environmental impact would be from drilling. Ignoring the carbon emissions from when the oil was burned

A year less a day since we made our case at the Supreme Court, we will learn their judgment. Fervently hoping these learned people will agree with us on the correct interpretation of Environmental Impact Assessment regulations regarding downstream greenhouse gas emissions.

Argh. Felicitaciones, España. No complaints. Beaten by the better side - albeit, only just - on the night and by the best and most exciting team at this tournament. Proud of a young England side who’ll hopefully continue giving people reason to dream. ❤️

And every man is right. he who seeks serenity can do no better than a ladder. Just go up there with a few tools, and you can spend hours, undisturbed , contemplating big questions. There are no more reliable places to attain serenity. No one ever disturbs a man up a ladder.

Strange place for the ‘It’s not me, it’s you’ after 30-odd years - the bench on the Village Green #TheArchers

I may have to go there with this. Lemon meringue pie is so labour intensive but if you can get the same effect - let me eat cake!

Midweek Treat: #RecipeOfTheDay is my Lemon Meringue Cake, a low-effort twist on a Lemon Meringue Pie! And thank you to all those who have left reviews of the cake (which you can find below the recipe) for such lovely comments nigella.com/recipes/lemon-…

All you need: a toffee tin and a sock filled with sand

A heartwarming news story from 1938.

No system is perfect but this does seem bonkers #generalelection2024

Love @guardian's handy election result chart in today's edition. Especially this part. 😄 #GeneralElection2024 #LabourLandslide

Four votes, and there are people who don't vote because they don't think it makes a difference...

Anxious faces at the recount here in Poole where Labour and Conservative are just four votes apart. Conservative Sir Robert Syms has held the seat for 27 years and jokes it’s never been so interesting before. Labour’s Neil Duncan-Jordan says every doorstep conversation is…

Interesting night. Similar feeling to when you have a good clear-out and take a load of stuff to the tip

You need to do something about the polling clerk at Kingsdown @EalingCouncil I almost walked away without voting. The manager was just sitting there doing nothing about it until we insisted someone competent took over. People had to get to work!

Well done Pascha 👏👏Fabulous bustier dress #greatbritisbsewingbee

Alex - smug and prone to hubris. #thegreatbritishsewingbee

A colleague said yesterday that the Conservatives in power is all she’s known since she was a teen. The worst government in our history. I can’t imagine what that does to your head and your perception of politics

I worked with this woman several years ago at Hello! magazine. We were both sub-editors (she’s still there). I hope the ppl around her are looking out for her bcos this is not good

Canterbury councillor, Elizabeth Carr-Ellis (Labour candidate for Angus & Perthshire Glens) was asked about GB Energy. Will it produce energy? She just read back the Labour manifesto. Apparently we already have public energy but it’s owned by private companies? Huh? 🤷🏻‍♂️#VoteSNP
