This is the start of a massive PR crisis for Automatic, the company that owns WordPress. This move puts millions of websites at a severe security risk because people can’t update plugins properly—and they can’t even see that they need to be updated!

For perspective, in Q4 of 2023 average CPC was 7% lower than the year before according to their financial disclosures. This quarter it was 10% higher than last year. This is not a good sign. Anyone have further insight or comment? ( 2 of 2)
It appears Google is increasing CPCs to make up for lower search volume. In the last 90 days average CPCs especially on branded terms have increased significantly for no apparent reason. (1 OF 2)
