Being the architect of the media bargaining code, of course Rod Sims continues to think that all problems can only be solved via Government overreach

The @FinancialReview editorial advocating for the social media age ban on the basis that, like the media bargaining code, it is “world leading” is just mind bendingly stupid. Why is it a good thing to be leading the world in legislating bad ideas?

The description by @MarkDiStef of Rumble as “[X number] of freaks paying a few bucks a month to listen to some morons” sounds eerily like the @downroundpod premium business model.

It makes absolutely zero sense for Australia to voluntarily make itself more uncompetitive.

Multinational companies will soon have to publicly disclose more about where in the world they pay taxes, a process likely to leave significant gaps in information and force companies to do much more work. btaxgo.com/ASJHmzP

The one week @raph_dixon and @jrhennessy are having "a holiday" from @downroundpod in Japan, Alimentation Couche-Tard becomes the first North American company to announce it is buying a Japanese company. Coincidence? I think not.

Is anyone else having issues with @stoopinbox not logging in or updating?

The $20,000 instant asset write off for the 2023/24 income year has still not been legislated. It will not be considered by the Senate until late June. This is no way to give certainty to businesses as to what they will or will not be able to claim a deduction for.
