Conservatives betrayed farmers over trade deals and the botched transition to ELMS, causing huge hardship… so Labour had a great opportunity that, today, they have spectacularly missed. I’m determined that Lib Dems will be the voice that farmers and rural communities deserve.

In 2023 @Keir_Starmer looked farmers in the eye & said he knew what losing a farm meant. Farmers believed him. After today’s budget they don’t believe him any more. #BackBritishFarming

📺 Today I spoke with @itvcalendar about Labour’s Bus Tax. 💷 The increase in the bus fare price cap, from £2 to £3, will hit those with lower incomes & those who already have the least. 🚌 It may lead to reduced passenger numbers, cuts to bus routes - particularly in rural…

This is a deeply stupid and regressive thing to do.

Well…blimey! I think this could actually be the point when the Tory party ceases to be a movement contending for government. Lib Dems now have a very serious responsibility and opportunity to fill the gap. This is our moment.

Conservative Party Leadership Election - 4th Round Result: Badenoch: 42 (+12) Jenrick: 41 (+10) Cleverly: 37 (-2) James Cleverly has therefore been eliminated. Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick progress to the member's vote.

Labour Peer interviews Labour Minister at Labour Conference...

"My best freebie has been spending time with you Ayesha." Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport @LisaNandy is awarded a freebie by @AyeshaHazarika for revealing her love of Britney Spears and who her favourite #TimesRadio presenter is.

Then stop delaying things from groups that infrequently access Council services as you frequently have yourself 😉

Good citizen involvement at #LabourConference24 fringe. It's about going to where people *are*, not expecting them to pro-actively access local authorities' overly formalised processes. I've been saying this locally & would love SW #Sheffield LibDem colleagues to journey with me.

John Major right again about the unqualified damage of #Brexit.

"The world saw us as a member of the European Union, it was a megaphone to magnify our power in the world. "Instead, we are isolated." Former Prime Minister John Major slams Brexit betrayal.

A very tired and husky me summing up to BBC Politics Live my thoughts on the conference, @EdwardJDavey's speech and our hopes for the future. Life is always tough for Lib Dems, but I hope that we can do what we do best and hold Labour to account.

Sheffield Labour MPs have today chosen to stand with Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves rather than nearly 75,000 pensioners in our city. Labour's own research suggested that up to 4,000 pensioners could lose their lives as they will now have to choose between heating and eating.
