Plant scientists! I have the pleasure to be collaborating with artist @thewronski & we're looking for phrases like ‘live fast, die young’ that reflect aspects of plant phys/ecology/threats plants face, to put on stickers! Do any phrases come to mind? Please comment or message! 🌿

The fact that we’ve convinced people that depression is a neuro chemical imbalance and not downstream of a weird way of setting up our lives is one of our most impressive modern inventions

The idea suggested by @Majafelice is that the true conservatives of the present era are mainstream liberals, whose whole political program has been reduced to defending existing institutions from the depredations of the rising right (and competition from an impassioned left).

A simultaneous 30°C anomaly in the Arctic and 40°C anomaly in the Antarctic, among the most terrifying events scientists have recorded, was a footnote in the bulletins. One celeb slapping another: headlines everywhere. This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a bant.

Nothing like the feed where 1 tweet shows record setting polar heat waves and the next is someone in tech yet again mentioning owning 10+ pairs of Allbirds shoes. Why do we put faith in people that consistently only promote more consumption?

English tea. Italian coffee. Belgian chocolate. American iPhones. None of these statements are true. All of these products are produced overwhelmingly in the global South, with Southern resources, Southern land and Southern labour.

Are they "developing" countries or are they healing from your exploitation?

It's so tragic to have your ability to see be dependent on the ongoing success of a business with a closed-source IP model that can one day pull the plug when it doesn't make financial sense to investors. Still measuring the wrong thing.

Few things have provided as much satisfaction as getting a corporation to cover the cost of mental health therapy.

Do the people who worked at home before the pandemic say things like “I haven’t been outside at all today” at a 5pm meeting?

When tired routines don't pass even the simplest sense check...

Honestly, what are we even doing here.

The messages I read in the corporate office environment that people respond to with “That makes sense” boggle the mind. So many words, so little meaning.

At my Tree Centered Design workshop, people attempt to empathise with the needs of trees through various exercises and prompts. In teams, they imagine new human-tree relations by developing and acting out scenarios featuring different interactions between human and tree life.

Fantastic new representation of hell. Great work.

This is how Walmart envisions Shopping in the #Metaverse. Thoughts? 💭

As much as I love the recent rapid growth of renewables, the share of fossil fuels in the global energy system has barely budged in 50 years. We should be closing coal plants and extending the useful life of nuclear plants, and yet some nations are doing the exact opposite.
