Thanks for everything. A lot of memories have been made because of this fanbase and this band.
Posted something on my personal Facebook that's kind of a current status update for me. If you're not connected with me on there, don't worry about it. But you won't be seeing me again for medical reasons.
Was surprised to hear Hanson mentioned on @DrewMikePodcast this week. They saw a clip where the crowd was super into it, maybe from the current tour. They also mentioned how stupid one of their hair looked. Take a guess who they were talking about. Pic unrelated.
Whether or not that counts for you is up to you I suppose, since it's pseudo-live. And it's originally a DVD, although I transferred the standalone audio since I'm not an unreasonable monster.
Just for the heck of it I averaged the personal ratings for every Hanson release. I knew Loud would be number one (88%) but as kind of a surprise for me, the The Walk Acoustic Live disc was number two (86%).
I guess the fact that they finally recorded A Life Without You after years and years and years gives me mild hope that someday we'll get We All Know. Then again, the band that could do that song justice might not exist anymore so...not sure if I'd want it. 🤷♂️
Also, looks like this year's EP is the longest one they've done as far as EPs with five studio tracks. A little over 21 minutes.
...and thankfully "Ambient" has nothing to do with how the album sounds. Don't think they would be able to pull that off.
Think the Ambient EP this year is actually pretty good compared to the last few. It's not amazing or anything but I could see coming back to some of these tracks once in awhile, which I generally couldn't say for the past several years.
Update: was told that Alexandra Martin got kicked out of karaoke, and possibly tried to use a fake name. Guess the word is out she's there!
It's especially frustrating because at least last year's EP was in maxed out quality even if it wasn't lossless. This year's is something you'd download in 2003.
The Ambient EP being encoded at 192 kb/sec is the exact kind of thing I was worried would happen when they said they were no longer making CDs. If they're not going to give us some form of lossless audio, there is no archival quality version of this music out there for listeners.
Someone said they spotted Alexandra Martin at Hanson Day. I guess restraining orders run out after a while...
This is a reminder of the big "...and coffee cake by the fireplace" controversy of 2004.
Last one of these. I told an AI to write a funny song about Hanson. This is what it came up with. facebook.com/10006487983268…
Went back to an AI and told it to write me a bitter, depressing song like Hanson would. I like how it brought back MMMBop. facebook.com/10006487983268…
Was going to say all I wanted for my birthday yesterday was them to announce a CD version of the upcoming EP, but then I realized that's kind of a waste of a birthday wish. Not as good as money or whatever.
Still kind of weird seeing Alexa Bliss talking about Hanson.
