Today in 1983, T.C. got out and flew this sweet bastard around Hawaii like a goddamn beacon of freedom.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime bat dog, Finn. For years, Finn brought joy, excitement, and so much love to everyone at Las Vegas Ballpark and to all of you—our incredible fans. Finn wasn’t just a part of the team, he was family. His wagging…

They named a new elementary school building in Missouri after the janitor at their school. This rocks so much

One day you'll bury your dad, that's the day you'll realize you lost the only man who wants you to win genuinely. Please take care of him if he's alive.

My favorite U2 album

U2 released “Rattle and Hum” on this day in 1988. It was a hybrid live/studio album and a companion to the film released 17 days later. What are your thoughts on this album? Favourite track? #U2

It is with great regret that I announce that early this morning, Stomper was found unconscious on the toilet in his penthouse bathroom. We're waiting to get updates on his condition. #Athletics

The fact that Pete Rose died without being celebrated as a true baseball pioneer is a shame and maybe even a sham.

This is a powerful photo of A's head groundskeeper Clay Wood being consoled as he prepares the field at the Oakland Coliseum one last time. This was Clay's 31st and final season with the club. Hundreds of others will lose their jobs. (Photo by Lachlan Cunningham/Getty Images)

This is exactly why this song is special to me.

In some ways the saddest and most humane of his perfect singles, Elvis Costello's "Veronica" is the best rock song to ever lionize the elderly. Even the great "Eleanor Rigby" carries a hint of condescension. Veronica is the hero of her own journey: half-remembered, nearly gone.

My favorite album - I wore it out. Me and Mark Bettencourt as kids listened to it nonstop. I miss him. Wish I knew where he was. @HueyLewisNews

40 years ago today, the Huey Lewis & the News album Sports hits #1 for a week on the Billboard Album Chart. It's one of ONLY five albums to top the chart in 1984, the others being Thriller, Purple Rain, Born in the U.S.A., and the Footloose soundtrack.
