A group of Ukrainian border guards were stationed on Snake Island, in the Black Sea south of Odessa, when a Russian warship ordered them to surrender under threat of attack. Their response: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself." They held their ground. All 13 were killed.
I lived in Ukraine for 2 years from ‘09 - ‘11, specifically Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv. My heart breaks for the whole country. Those cities (and country) very much shaped me, my thoughts and heart are certainly with them today and everyday.
