📢 SHRUG users 📢 We released a significant update to SHRUG last week. Please read on how it might affect you. 🧵 TL;DR: We made corrected shrid boundaries around some urban outgrowths. Only about 500 shrids have changed, but these will cause merge errors. 1/N

Thank you kartik and to @karthik_econ for connecting me to this amazing coauthor. Do check out my JMP. The papers illustrate the complexity of the rural labor markets in south India and how they've been shaped by 200 yr old land policies and new agricultural technology

Grateful to get the Weiss distinguished PhD research paper award at NEUDC with @BrownstoneEcon for our paper on land concentration and monopsony power in labor markets

🚨Thrilled to share our new paper "Causal Claims in Economics"! 🚨 @fetzert and I analysed over 44,000 economics papers using AI to create a knowledge graph of economics and map out causal relationships. Here's what we found 🧵👇

We did a podcast! Super fun talking to Tim about our new work on the backgrounds of Nobel Prize winners. Wish I had gotten him to teach me how to do that cool radio voice...

🚨New paper alert! Check out Paul's awesome thread on our new paper on equality of opportunity in scientific achievement. For the time strapped: Nobel laureates come from very elite backgrounds...but much much more in the 🧵...

What kind of childhood makes a top scientist? Is it enough to have all the right traits (brilliance, grit, etc) or do you need the right family too? And why should we care? A 🧵 on our paper on the Nobel Laureates. A teaser: the income distribution of the laureates' fathers.1/N

Some points that should be basic, just to reiterate Pro Israel ≠ pro Netanyahu Pro Palestine ≠ pro Hamas Pro Israel ≠ anti Palestine Pro Palestine ≠ anti Israel Of course, some people can hold multiple of these views. Many combinations exist. But they are not the same.

Has anyone seen a report or a paper explaining how Poland pulled this off?

Sure to be an amazing workshop! I've come to realize that my favorite conferences the ones that bring together a small number of closely related papers and researchers to really learn from each other.

Has anyone seen a report or a paper explaining how Poland pulled this off?

Econ hive mind, help! I teach intro to data analysis to MSc's, many of whom don't have any coding background. We've previously gotten them access to DataCamp to build skills on their own but now it might be too expensive for Imperial -- any ideas on alternatives? #econtwitter
