If Arabian horses seem high energy, they are! Bred historically for agility & speed, they are one of the oldest equine breeds. Historically used by the Bedouin tribes for transportation of people & goods. They are also friendly, intelligent, & loyal. Visit them on our farm soon!

One of the most common forms of animal enrichment is to hide food items to foster foraging & problem solving. During this enrichment activity, our sheep have found that pushing their puzzle feeders with their heads is the easiest way to obtain the tasty food items hidden inside.

It’s #WorldMigratoryBirdDay! In addition to the beautiful birds we have on exhibit, you can also spot many migratory bird species as you stroll through the park. Let us know in the comments which birds you’ve spotted at the Queens Zoo!

Our Andean bear cubs can bear-ly contain their excitement over these tree stumps that were added to their habitat for enrichment. The tree stumps provide the bears with a new item to scent mark, scratch, & chew.

This #WorldFarmAnimalDay, visit the farm in the heart of Queens. Introduce your family to our cattle, including Scottish highlands, Texas longhorns, and milking shorthorn! In this video, they are enjoying a treat of alfalfa sprouts given to them by senior keeper Jose.
