Storyboarding is a highly underrated design tool in the age of "well you can just use design system components to output a hi-fi mockup" But storyboards serve a completely different purpose to mockups/wires - they focus the discussion on the desired *experience* and not just UI.

Whenever you start thinking "this younger generation has it easy", reach out to someone from a generation ahead of you and you will soon realise how their efforts paved a better path for you too. It gets "easier" for everyone and that's the whole point.

"Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day" is a lie sold to us by capitalism. You know who doesn't have 24 hrs? Working mothers with dependent families & housework. Working-class labourers waiting for public transport. Persons with disabilities for whom time works differently.


Realisation: there are all kinds of designers (varying degrees of mastery/focus in each discipline) and it seems like all kinds have a place in the rapidly maturing market for designers. If you are still dunking on the “other” kinds, the joke’s on you, dost.
