Keys to fix umpiring- 1. Get quality instructors in charge of these organizations. 99% of time with umpires should be spent on teaching them how to be more accurate with their calls. 2. Teach umpires how to COMMUNICATE! 3. Assignments should be based on ability, not seniority.
The amount of times that umpires stopped play because I had a foot outside my dugout while my team was on defense were too many to count. How can we accurately call balls and strikes if we are looking at the dugouts the entire game? Priorities.
