So excited to roll out this project alongside fellow Terp @thebeenster Often left out of the cultural debate about how to educate the next generation are undergrad students themselves. The Times wants to help you tell the biggest story on your campus. nytimes.com/2023/02/09/us/…

Love this: “Inviting people to contribute to our reporting helps us grow the reach and scope of our journalism" @thebeenster nytimes.com/2023/01/12/rea…
"It uses shorter sentences and simpler words, but it doesn’t leave out information. Because this story affects people with disabilities, we wanted the community to read the story without difficulty." bit.ly/3jaQ5Ka
Big news for Karim!!!! 💪
I am p excited to have joined the @latimes as head of newsletters !!!!!! latimes.com/about/pressrel…
An exciting day! I’ve never been a co-author on research before, and these two are the best collaborators: @BeccaMonteleone @amysilvermanaz We’ve been continuing this research and there’s more to come, so please let me know (or DM) if you want to chat more about this work!
Out today and free to read! "Intellectual Disability and Epistemic Justice in Journalism: Reflections from A Pilot Project" in the Canadian Journal of Disability Studies. Co-authored with @amysilvermanaz and @thebeenster cjds.uwaterloo.ca/index.php/cjds…
I enjoy all of @rjstevick’s research stories and passion for science but this is, to date, the tastiest one of them all 🥧 🔬
I'm excited to share our ongoing work describing the dessert diversity at the canteen @institutpasteur ! 🧁 This study included extensive sampling of 102 independent samples over 3 years. Here's a 🧵 of our key findings. 1/7
Working with (and learning from) Terry again is one of the best parts of being at NYT. Read his year-one-in-review thread!
21/ Finally, I get to work with @thebeenster again! We’ve been working and scheming on different ways to expand and grow crowdsourcing and engagement reporting here. I’m super excited about the ideas we’re cooking up for 2023.
rest in peace, Henry.
No hyphen for Asian American, African American and other dual-heritage terms. When possible, refer to a person’s country of origin or follow the person’s preference. Such as: Filipino American or Indian American. RIP and thank you, Henry Fuhrmann @latimes apne.ws/NBSGoYP
So, so incredibly thrilled to share this story today, which explores some of the changes we've seen in American Sign Language over time. I hope you'll be as fascinated reading this as I was when I reported the story: nytimes.com/interactive/20…
Congrats to the beloved YUNG AAJA! Founded by @BenPu_nbc, now led by @gwendolynawu @rachjuramirez @gracesoyeonmoon I passed the leadership baton earlier this year, and am bursting with excitement for this honor for the young professionals network and this community. Onward 🚀
could not have done this without @thebeenster @gracesoyeonmoon @rachjuramirez 🥺 thanks to yung AAJA for being the best affinity group around #AAJA22
I was flipping through the latest @IRE_NICAR journal and surprised to find Director Chloe Zhao as a winner in the student journalism category. Apparently the editors for the nation’s largest investigative journalism magazine couldn’t be bothered to fact check their photos.
Slightly late sharing this, but I'm *very* proud of @angrejjj and can't wait to see all he does in this role!
No longer kept under wraps: I’m thrilled to say that starting May 31 I’ll be working as an audience producer @Hearst CT Media. I look forward to collaborating with and learning from talented journalists in the newsroom! Thank you @mandyhofmockel & @LindsayABoyle :) (1/2)
Back in the day, I was the quiet, sensitive features guy they would send in to cover the aftermath of disasters a week or two after the big breaking news. So Oklahoma City after the bombing, Bosnia at the end of the war, NYC after 9/11, Slidell after Katrina. I know, go figure.
👋 I've reactivated my public calendar for early career journalists who want (free) coaching, mentorship or advice about audience journalism. You can book me here: calendly.com/bobbycblanchar… RTs / amplifications are appreciated.
NYC loses many mask & vax restrictions March 7. I'm starting a list of NYC businesses that will continue to check vax cards/require masks, bc covid isn't over yet. add to the list here ➡️ tinyurl.com/ycktajmt ⬅️ @newmarkjschool inspired by @grrrcait's effort in chicago
