I've deleted my personal X account and will close The River Mill's as soon as it's sold. Like millions in recent days, I've migrated to @bluesky . @pmaddern.bsky.social

I know this is my business account, but.... I'm disgusted that @QUBelfast, together with the PSNI, thought this was an appropriate response. Inside Whitla Hall, sarcasm reigned when referencing what was happening outside. As a graduate, I'm deeply ashamed of the university.

The scenes tonight of the PSNI beating peaceful Pro-Palestinian protesters should radicalise you. Chanting and waving flags alone will never be enough. QUB students need an encampment or similar (at the very least) to pressurise the university to cut ties with the Clinton…

So, I might have jury duty as of Nov 6th. The mill will still be open, but if I am 'detained', bookings will have to be self-catering only. I will update this as-and-when I have a better idea of what's involved.
