In one of the @ESA_Euclid ERO papers, we (@EC_Euclid) searched for globular clusters (GCs) in a field in the Fornax Cluster, focusing mostly on GCs around the dwarf galaxies in this field (the best research topic ever :D) ... #ArXiv link to paper: arxiv.org/abs/2405.13500

What kind of childhood makes a top scientist? Is it enough to have all the right traits (brilliance, grit, etc) or do you need the right family too? And why should we care? A 🧵 on our paper on the Nobel Laureates. A teaser: the income distribution of the laureates' fathers.1/N

Journalists at CNN and the BBC have exposed the inner workings of their newsrooms, alleging pro-Israel bias in coverage of the war on Gaza, as well as systematic double standards and frequent violations of journalistic principles ⤵️ aje.io/ric9cw

This Nature article shows that most Nobel Prize winners are part of one big, incestuous academic network. Out of 736 Nobel Prize winners in science and economics, 702 are "part of the same academic family." Only 32 researchers out of this network have won the Nobel Prize.

The beauty of diversity. A Muslim woman of color, proudly wearing her hijab, brings home gold for the Netherlands. As the 🇳🇱 flag rises on the world stage, she sings the Dutch anthem with pride. This is the true strength of immigration—refugees are not criminals, but champions.

The American people do not support Netanyahu’s horrific war. We must remind the Democratic Party: If they want young people to get involved in the political process, they must change their approach to Gaza.

On my way to #IAUGA2024 in Cape Town. In two talks, I will present the results of the @ESA_Euclid ERO for studying Dwarf Galaxies & their Globular Clusters: -“Div J (Galaxies & Cosmology)” session on Fri -“FM9: Measures of Luminous and Dark Matter in Galaxies Across Time” on Tue

In another @ESA_Euclid ERO paper led by @MarleauFrancine, we (@EC_Euclid) searched for dwarf galaxies in the Perseus cluster. Here, a total of 1100 dwarf candidates were found in #Euclid images, with 638 appearing to be new identifications. Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2405.13502

@ESA_Euclid is enabling systematic studies of extragalactic globular clusters in a spatially unbiased and homogeneous manner and is primed to improve our understanding of many understudied aspects of globular clusters astrophysics.”

The paper I have been working on for a while is out! In this one I predicted the detectability of Globular Clusters in the full 6-year Euclid survey! And then tested detection models and size measurement using the first ERO data on the Fornax Cluster! arxiv.org/abs/2405.14015
