Priti Patel: "And that's not all. We have finally ended free movement." Rapturous applause from an audience who has to queue at petrol stations and borders because of it. Who said turkeys don't vote for Christmas. In this country they will happily trim and stuff themselves.

We were told the HGV driver shortage is Europe-wide, but now the government is trying to recruit drivers from across Europe. We were told the crisis isn’t caused by Brexit, but the government is now reversing a fundamental part of Brexit (immigration restrictions) to solve it.

Hypocrisy of the highest order!

He just lies, all the time and without consequence, to the point where I genuinely don’t think he knows or cares what the truth is, and is so above accountability that it doesn’t matter.

Boris Johnson, when asked about Joe Biden's concerns over the Northern Ireland protocol, told reporters: "The president actually in our meeting yesterday, I don't think it came up at all. We had a meeting of over 90 minutes & it wasn't raised." cf. the White House readout:

Like with fishing rights, the US FTA was something the government built up as urgent, transformational, and worth any sacrifice... right up until it failed to meaningfully secure it, at which point it suddenly started to agree with the experts that it's not a priority after all.

PM on US-UK trade deal: "The reality is that Joe has a lot of fish to fry. “I’d much rather get a deal that really works for the UK than get a quick deal” More from me on on trade, PM trip to WH & Kerry on why BJ’s 6/10 for that $100bn climate aid package more 9/10 in News @ 10!

How can we have “moved on” from Brexit when we still haven’t fully implemented it? And if we have “moved on” from Brexit then why is Lord Frost still trying to renegotiate it? Just asking.

Kwarteng again dismisses questions about Brexit by saying "we've moved on".

Almost like Brexit was a terrible idea, promoted by outright lies told by complete charlatans 🤷‍♂️

On @BylineTimes and @BylineTV we’ve been warning about this for 9 months. A winter of discontent like nothing since the 70s is upon us. Don’t say you weren’t warned

Who do you trust? Doctors, or the right-wing press? Because quite frankly we’re being gaslighted by the government and the right-wing media, and I’ve never seen NHS staff morale lower. If you support doctors, RT 💙

THREAD: It's tiring to be attacked as if I (and others) am an "extremist" on covid or with suggestions that I'm a mouthpiece for others... when actually I'm very mainstream and it's UK policy that isn't. 1/10

Thing is, by the time my generation retires, pensioners will be 25 per cent of the population. If you think today's politicians grovel to Boomers, you've seen nothing yet. The government of 2045 will be frantically announcing the return of the Megadrive, Um Bongo and 2 Unlimited

It was 1974 when state schools were required to teach metric system as main system of measurement. So you'd have to be well over 55 to remember imperial as your preeminent measurement system. Nuts to make this an issue.

This guy is just an embarrassing caricature at this point

Jacob Rees-Mogg says Conservative MPs don’t need to wear facemasks in the Commons chamber because they regularly attend parliament and meet other MPs and says if opposition MPs also "worked a bit harder… they might not need to wear face coverings either."

Britain’s main problem with Brexit is that the EU was actually prepared to implement it.

We pissed away the summer. No attempt to get numbers down while the weather was good. No attempt to ventilate offices or schools. No support for isolation. No effort at all to get us into a better place before the cold weather arrives.

I would pay to watch footage of someone doing their "own research" on vaccines. Share your screen because I am absolutely dying to know what you're looking at
