This #NationalPharmacyWeek, take time for a conversation with your community pharmacist. You'll meet a small business owner, a frontline medical provider, and a mainstay of your downtown. These neighbors are struggling, though, against the greed & abuse of the Big 3 PBMs. So…
Pharmacy Benefit Managers are a growing threat to pharmacies & health care systems. PBMs have directly led to the lights going out for thousands of pharmacies from coast to coast. Visit: ow.ly/lyBu50SZwHH and tell Congress it’s time to act! #EndPBMsNow #Keepthelightson
50 million dollars in lobbying in 2023. Unreal.
Hats off to @DaveYostOH on standing up for fair markets. PBMs abuse payers & patients in their cost/price scheme adding 0.00 value to health care. @CMSGov @OhioPharmacists @NACDS @FTC @pharmacists ohiocapitaljournal.com/2024/02/22/ohi…
Got pink eye on vacation. I went to the pharmacist, instead of the doctor, and got prescription eye drops in 5m. If we want to save costs, how about letting pharmacists do their jobs? They’re more than capable of taking care of basic medical needs.
I just put up a video about pharmacy DIR fees. Like most physicians, I had no idea this was a thing. PBMs are innovating greed. Please watch. 30 Days of US Healthcare: DIR Fees youtu.be/I61wCVh0Y1E
How can UnitedHealth Care/OptumRx make $324 Billion in profits in 2022? By paying pharmacies WELL-UNDER cost of dispensing medicine. $0.23 margin for this Rx doesn’t even cover the cost of the bottle/lid/label we are dispensing it in…
If there’s one thing I wish everybody knew about US healthcare, it would be the existence of pharmacy benefit managers. They are just as responsible for soaring drug prices as pharma, yet most people are oblivious to their actions. Truly incredible middlemanning effort by PBMs.

Something has got to change!
Goes to show that these large corporations only value one thing, MONEY! They don’t care about their staff or their patients. Makes the staff look like they aren’t capable of doing the job but no one is when the working conditions are as such. Hopefully change is on the way!
Big story from @martyschladen details significant alleged safety and quality issues at CVS pharmacies in Ohio, which have outsized market presence due to years of limiting patient choice, as well as underpaying – and then buying and closing – competitors. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2023/07/07/cor…

This is not a pharmacist shortage issue. It is a patient safety issue. It is a work-place safety issue. Patient's health and safety is being sacrificed for the good of corporate bottom-lines by forcing pharmacists to do more work with less help and in less time. @GMA @TODAYshow
Amazon Pharmacy launches RxPass and immediately bunches pharmacists, technicians and assistants in the "and more" group 👏👏👏 #pharmacy #amazon
If you had a hard time swallowing this sobering shot from @sangerkatz and @ReedAbelson on overcharging from Medicare Advantage plans, good luck with this unsettling chaser from @CherClarHealth medpagetoday.com/special-report…
Private Medicare Advantage plans are on track to become the majority of Medicare next year. Nearly every big player in the industry has been accused of fraud. nytimes.com/2022/10/08/ups… w/the great @ReedAbelson
Florida just announced the results of an analysis that they performed, saying the results show "an increased risk of cardiac-related death among men 18-39" for the mRNA vaccines, and recommend this group not receive these vaccines. Is this justified? Let's look at the data...
One thing I always tell my patients! Stop wasting money!
Americans spent ~$50 billion on vitamins and supplements in 2021. A new systematic review of 84 studies shows they are a "waste of money," lacking value in non-pregnant adults, and specifically risk of beta-carotene and lack of Vit E effect @JAMA_current
