Without clearly outlined goals, strategies & funding to reduce alcohol-related harms to infants, children, youth & families, this retail expansion will put additional strain on an already overloaded community mental health and addictions system. Read more: bit.ly/48kmja3

This is a great choice! And @davidcommon - starting on my birthday, no less! Looking forward to it!

David Common has been named the new host of CBC Radio's Metro Morning. The Toronto-raised, award-winning journalist officially begins on October 16 cbc.ca/news/canada/to… @davidcommon @CBCNews @cbcradio @CBC

I actually don't think that the equation is "good parents = kids will tell them". It's actually "good parents = understanding that their kid may not want to tell them first, and will tell them when they're ready to". It's an important distinction.

Very interesting perspective. I marvel at the absolute confidence of people who argue *their* kids would never keep this from them because they're not horrible bigots.

Holland Bloorview joins in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Today we reiterate our unwavering support for the free and full sex and gender expression of everyone, including the children and youth we have the privilege of partnering with. bit.ly/45ZOwST

As the CEO of @kidsmentalhlth, I know that our Team and our members stand together to support 2SLGBTQ+ youth. As the father of a kid with 2 Dads, I’m appalled that there are people who don’t want kids to learn that our family exists. There is #NoSpaceForHate.

There is #NoSpaceForHate in our province. We support the human rights and well-being of gender-diverse, trans, and queer children and youth. We stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQ+ community and will continue to advocate for an Ontario where all children and youth can thrive.

15 years ago, when we started working together, never would have guessed that my son and @ParisSemansky’s daughter would be walking to school together! @Deb_Matthews and @Kathleen_Wynne, thought you’d get a kick out of this!

My Great-Grandma would have been 118 today. These pictures are from her wedding in 1929, her 102nd birthday in 2007, and her 106th birthday in 2011. She passed away shortly after that. What a life and an inspiration! How fortunate I was to have her in my life until I was 35!

A historic moment at #CHEO! Today at CHEO, @fordnation announced one of the largest-ever investments in pediatric care. We couldn't be prouder to be part of this extraordinary milestone. ow.ly/KcUe50PgtF8

Today is a good day for Ontario’s children and youth. Thank you @fordnation and @SylviaJonesMPP for today’s historic investment of $330M across the children’s health sector, including in child and youth mental health. This will serve kids and families now and into the future.

This Impact Report basically covers my first year with @kidsmentalhlth, and I’m grateful to to be part of a Team doing such great work with our system partners and with government on improving access to mental health care for Ontario’s children, youth and families. Check it out!

We are proud to share our 2022–23 Impact Report. At a time when we are facing unprecedented demand & significant workforce challenges, we are continually amazed by the innovation in our sector and the dedication to always putting kids and families first. cmho.org/wp-content/upl…

If you've got the time, read this thread. It's scary to know that, today, Sue Johanson would somehow be vilified by many, for her willingness to talk openly and honestly with and to young people about the reality of their lives...

It was April 1986. Not a great time to be a gay teenager. Things were much different then. Gay rights were virtually non-existent, much-needed resources were hard to come by and if you had any questions, well... good luck to you. Enter Sue Johanson. 🧵 >>

It’s a real privilege to work at @kidsmentalhlth, both because of the importance of the work, and because of the amazing partners across the province that I learn from every day. We had such an amazing and inspiring day together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our #LeadershipExchange & #AGM! The energy in the room, the sharing of innovative ideas & the appetite for change was palpable. This sector is lucky to have leadership that is not afraid to ask hard questions & put kids and families first.

Really grateful to have the Minister of Health, @SylviaJonesMPP, join the @kidsmentalhlth Leadership Exchange and AGM. A great opportunity to reflect on the gains made, and contemplate the work ahead to improve access to mental health care for children and youth. #kidscantwait

Infuriated to hear @CBCNews journalist talking about the PM having the opportunity to “stack the court” with the resignation of Justice Brown from the Supreme Court. We don’t need media making up an Americanized partisan process. Cover the news please.
