she doesn't mind at all, actually loves his company.

she left to go hunting , leaving a note. she needed to clear her mind , so hunting was the perfect thing to do.

she could tell he was there, continuing to now cut up some chicken. it felt normal, to be cooking. a small smile, once she hears her son speak. " for no one in particular, just whoever wants food. probably ness. " a small shrug.
⠀⠀standing nearby, watching his mother, smiling at the smoothing sight; her diligently preparing the meal. can't help but be struck by the comfort it brings her. soothing routine of cooking, approaching her. "mother, who are you cooking for today?"

it was her instinct, as a mother it only felt right to cook. it did feel more normal, easier to act human when needed to.
He understood that. Keeping some of those human behaviors allowed them to maintain some normalcy.
that's also why she's making it, it was easing her stress. it made her happy.
Oddly, smelling food cooking is oddly comforting. Even if he can’t eat it.
