The pilot of American Airlines Flight 77, Charles F. Burlingame III, is laid to rest in Section 35. Burlingame was a former U.S. Navy fighter pilot and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served as a Naval Reserve Officer until his retirement in 1996.
