some personal news — this is my last week with @emigrantventure it has been a formative time of exploration and learning, and i’m filled with nothing but gratitude for those who i worked with and excitement for what we worked on. but it’s time for a new chapter...

grateful to have @cpaik's mentorship - go listen to this!

In this episode of Turpentine VC: @cpaik, general partner at @PaceCap, discusses the evolution of the venture capital industry, his frameworks for understanding AI's impact on software, and the future of consumer companies in light of changing infrastructure requirements. --…

SaaS is going to first be eaten by “ephemeral software” — get an agent to write code and execute on something it’ll eventually throw away

We're hiring an aesthetically minded product engineer at @sfcompute to work on the interfaces folks use to operate and sell large scale GPU clusters. You could work on SaaS, but what if you worked on supercomputers? You could work on consumer, but what if you worked on…

Tweet of the day.

Perpetual dissatisfaction I've now closely worked with/for several founders of $25B+ companies, and one characteristic I've observed in all of them: PERPETUAL DISSATISFACTION WITH THE STATE OF THE COMPANY. They are not satisfied, even as the company hits its goals, scales and…

flowers are computers

Some news: Today’s my last day at Tlon. It’s been a wild 5-year journey, but it’s time to work on something that’s been close to my heart for a while. I’m starting a wildly ambitious company with @samepant to remake the world in a sense. We’ll share more info early '25. 🌻

Long Meta thesis comes down to their flexibility and creativity, specifically when they've seemingly had their backs against the wall. Constraints breed creativity. Two examples (h/t @AcquiredFM & @benthompson): Bet the farm and put all of their resources into figuring our…

Velocity is everything -- @pk_iv has embodied that since starting @browserbasehq earlier this year, which can now help your AI startup automate any action on the web. Grateful to be a part of the journey and welcome @CRV & @kleinerperkins

The next billion dollar company will be powered by Browserbase. We already help hundreds of AI startups automate the web at scale. Now, we've raised a $21 million Series A round, co-led by Kleiner Perkins and CRV, with participation from Okta Ventures. What will you 🅱️uild?

So proud of everything @browserbasehq has accomplished since Feb 🅱️

Excited to share that @browserbasehq has been selected by @theinformation as one of the most promising AI startups. We have some big news coming, so stay tuned! 🅱️👀 #TheInformation50

this is an idiotic take - congrats to the team and investors in Bridge. It's been obvious since 2020-2021 that a new financial infrastructure stack supporting mainstream crypto applications would accrue a ton of value (this thesis led to our investment in @sardine at the time).

1. claude's new OS level stuff is awesome, and further demonstrates that agents need better tools, especially for interfacing with the browser. 2. running a full OS (including a desktop!) just to interact with a browser is overkill and opens up a lot of security issues.
